Focusing on the Professional Ability and the World Skills Competition of Traditional Chinese Medicine Students—— the Seminar on Professional Ability and Skills Training and Competition for students of TCM Luban Workshop was Successfully Held in SVHC
On 25th of July, the seminar on professional ability and skills training and competition for students of TCM Luban Workshop was held in SVHC. Leaders, experts and core teachers from more than ten colleges and universities such as Tianjin Medical College, Nanchang Medical College, Gansu Health Vocational College, and Henan Technical Institute gathered together to discuss the innovative development of traditional Chinese medicine talent training and skills competition.
SVHC, as the vice chairman unit hosted this seminar. With the theme of "Students’ Professional Ability Training and Skills Competition", the seminar aims to promote the high-quality development of TCM vocational education, cultivate more high-quality TCM talents, and advocate the technology, standards and courses of TCM Luban Workshop to the world. The meeting was chaired by Gu Shuqin, Director of the International Cooperation and Exchange Office of SVHC.
At the opening ceremony, Xiao Bo, Deputy Director of the Party Committee and Vice President of SVHC, delivered a welcome speech. On behalf of the school, he extended a warm welcome to all the experts, leaders and friends who came to the meeting, and introduced the characteristics of SVHC and the construction of the Luban Workshop Community of TCM, hoping that the participants discuss the future development of Chinese medicine education, exchange students' professional ability training experience, formulate the rules and regulations of the World Skills Competition, and contribute to the cause of vocational education of TCM.
Xu Youhua, chairman unit and dean of the School of International Education of Tianjin Medical College, pointed out in his speech that the Luban Workshop is a major innovation in promoting cultural exchanges between China and foreign countries and promoting the international development of vocational education, and is a landmark achievement of China's modern vocational education reform and innovation. She reviewed the achievements made by the community since its establishment, and earnestly hoped that this seminar could gather the wisdom of all parties to jointly discuss the international development direction of the TCM Skills Competition, cultivate urgently needed TCM technical and skilled talents for the "Belt and Road" countries, and enrich and expand the connotation and field of Sino-foreign cultural exchanges.
Focus on professional ability training and explore new paths for skills’ competitions
The seminar focused on the professional ability and skills training and competition of TCM students. Lin Qing, Deputy Director of the School of Clinical Medicine, SVHC, and Professor Zhu Ying from the School of Pharmacy respectively reported on the draft regulations for the appropriate technology competition of traditional Chinese medicine and the competition of traditional Chinese medicine, and exchanged and discussed with the participating experts.

Group discussion on the future of TCM skills competition
The seminar set up two sub-venues of traditional Chinese medicine and its appropriate technology, and the participating experts conducted in-depth discussions on the draft rules of the competition, and put forward valuable suggestions based on their own experience and reality. Experts agreed that the TCM Skills Competition should highlight international characteristics, integrate international elements, and pay attention to its artistic value and practicality, so as to attract more domestic and foreign students to participate.

The seminar was informative and fruitful. The participating experts conducted extensive and in-depth exchanges around the theme of the professional ability training of Traditional Chinese medicine students and the World Skills Competition, which laid a solid foundation for the innovation and development of the professional ability and skills training and competition of students in TCM Luban Workshop. It is believed that with the joint efforts of all parties, the vocational education of TCM will usher in a better future.
