SVHC’s Efforts to Forge a Strong Sense of Community for the Chinese nation: the School of Public Health Held a Theme Activity of "Letting Gesang Flowers Bloom in the Fertile Soil of Suzhou" to Promote Ethnic Unity
The Strong Sense of Community for the Chinese nation is the foundation of national unity, the foundation of ethnic unity, and the soul of spiritual strength. Forging a strong sense of community for the Chinese nation is the main line of the CPC's national work in the new era. In order to thoroughly implement General Secretary Xi Jinping's important thoughts on strengthening and improving ethnic work and important discourses on education, and to strengthen the strong sense of community for the Chinese nation throughout the whole process of educating people in our college, so that students of all ethnic groups can hug each other tightly like pomegranate seeds, on the afternoon of October 12, the General Party Branch of the School of Public Health and the Working Committee for the Care of the Next Generation of Suzohu Vocational Health College, in "one-stop" student community of Xuexian Dormitory, held a theme activity of "Letting Gesang Flowers Bloom in the Fertile Soil of Suzhou" as one of a series of efforts by SVHC to forge a strong sense of community for the Chinese nation. Wu Lirong, member of the Party Committee and Vice President of SVHC, attended the event, relevant persons in charge of the United Front Work Department and the School of Public Health participated in the event, and students from the 2023 and 2024 Tibetan classes and other ethnic minorities such as Zhuang and Miao participated in the event.

To help ethnic minority students quickly adapt to university life and clarify their academic direction, students from the 2022 Tibetan class began the event by sending video greetings to new freshmen. These students are currently interning at hospitals in Suzhou and Tibet. They shared their experiences and insights from two years of college life and their internships, offering advice on how to navigate college life and encouraging new students to build confidence in their studies and actively integrate into campus life.

Chen Mengjiao, a member of the Communist youth league Branch of the School of Public Health, delivered a micro-lecture on the theme of "Forging a Strong Sense of Community for the Chinese nation". She led everyone in studying and understanding important statements on this topic by. She pointed out that our Party attaches great importance to ethnic unity, emphasizing concepts such as the Chinese national family, the Chinese national community, and the strengthening of the strong sense of community for the Chinese nation, and the Promotion of building a community of the Chinese nation. She stressed that strengthening this awareness is a common task for the entire Party, the nation, and all ethnic groups.
Culture is diverse, and the cultures of different ethnic groups should interact and integrate. This helps build a shared spiritual home for students of all ethnic groups, nurtures the awareness of the Chinese national community, and integrates Chinese culture into the entire vocational education process. During the event, Han and Tibetan students introduced the regional cultures of Suzhou and the Tibetan areas, covering history, food, and scenery. The Tibetan students also performed wonderful songs and dances. All the students, dressed in their ethnic costumes, showcased the unique cultural charm of their ethnic groups.

Students give sachets as gifts to express affection, to unit strengths. With their pens, students painted the Gesang flowers in their hearts. They rolled up their wishes and sealed them in wish bottles, preserving their dreams. In the traditional craft of making lacquer-coated fans, students unleashed their creativity and manual skills. Through this process, they experienced the charm of China's fine traditional culture and collectively enhanced their identification with it.

During the faculty-student discussion, the school leaders were deeply concerned about the study and life of ethnic minority students. Teachers and students exchanged ideas freely. Wu Lirong expressed high expectations for the students. She encouraged them to adapt to the new environment quickly and to live a warm and meaningful college life. She also hoped that after they achieve academic success, they would bring their knowledge back to their hometowns to contribute to local development.

It has been committed to improving the united front work pattern and integrating the awareness of the Chinese national community into the teaching process.
