Striving for Excellence, Contributing to the Nation: The 2024 Autumn Track and Field Sports Meet Successfully Concluded

On the morning of November 3rd, Suzhou Vocational Health College’s track and field sports meet grandly opened at the Shihu Campus track and field stadium. All college leaders, along with representatives from various functional departments and secondary schools, attended the opening ceremony.

At the opening ceremony, Party Secretary Shi Yuchang solemnly declared the official commencement of the 2024 Autumn Track and Field Sports Meet. Luo Xiaoqing, Deputy Party Secretary and President, delivered the opening speech. He encouraged students to respect life and enhance their awareness of physical exercise, to integrate knowledge with action by implementing exercise plans, and to pursue excellence by applying the benefits of physical training. He urged students to extend the spirit of sports to their studies and work, always maintaining a striving spirit to add a vibrant touch to their lives and the development of SVHC.

Huang Haoxuan, a student from the School of Dental Medicine, took the oath as the athlete representative, while Yan Wenting, a teacher from the Physical Education Department, took the oath as the referee representative. With the stirring tune of the "Athletes' March", representatives of teachers and students from across the college entered the venue with firm and powerful strides. The flag guard team escorted the national flag to the flag-raising platform with standard etiquette. Every teacher and student present felt a surge of emotion, their eyes filled with determination and respect as they watched the Five-Starred Red Flag slowly rise in the morning breeze, symbolizing hope and dreams blossoming brilliantly in the sky.

Following this, group performances such as calisthenics, military boxing, and dragon dance took the stage in succession. These vibrant and youthful performances fully showcased the characteristics of various sports events, and the unique displays quickly ignited the passion of the audience, earning rounds of applause and cheers, bringing the opening ceremony to a climax.

At the sports meet, nearly a thousand student athletes from different grades and majors competed fiercely in various events, fully demonstrating the indomitable and never-give-up spirit of sports. The referees performed their duties diligently and judged fairly; medical, security, and other staff members remained at their posts, ensuring smooth operations; and the teachers and students on-site were filled with excitement and enthusiasm, their cheers and shouts echoing across the campus for a long time.

The successful hosting of this sports meet not only carried forward SVHC’s spirit of "diligence, pragmatism, unity, and innovation" but also further promoted communication and cooperation among various majors, enhancing the cohesion and centripetal force within the college. At the same time, the sports meet provided students with an excellent platform to showcase and challenge themselves, igniting their enthusiasm for participating in sports activities and strongly propelling the high-quality development of our college.
