The Inaugural Meeting and First General Assembly of SVHC Western Returned Scholars Association (Overseas Scholars Association) Successfully Held
On November 15th, the inaugural meeting and first general assembly of Suzhou Vocational Health College’s Western Returned Scholars Association (Overseas Scholars Association) was successfully held in Room 223 of the Renhe Building at the Shihu Campus. This meeting marked the establishment of a formal organization for the college’s overseas returnees, creating a new platform to strengthen academic exchanges and promote international cooperation.

Zhong Wei, Secretary-General of the Suzhou Western Returned Scholars Association, and Chen Bin, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of SVHC, along with overseas returnees and scholars who have completed international training from various departments and units of the college, attended the meeting. The meeting was presided over by Wang Dehua, Member of the College Party Committee and Director of the United Front Work Department. Zhong Wei and Chen Bin presented appointment letters to the newly elected president, vice president, and secretary-general.

In his speech, Chen Bin emphasized that the establishment of the college’s Western Returned Scholars Association (Overseas Scholars Association) is an important initiative to strengthen international exchanges and cooperation and enhance the college’s educational standards. It serves as a bridge and link for the college’s Party Committee to connect with overseas returnees and provides a platform for learning, exchange, and information sharing. He stated that the college’s Party Committee will fully support the development of the association, striving to create favorable conditions and provide strong support for the growth and development of overseas returnees. He expressed his hope that the returnees would make full use of this platform to actively contribute to the college’s various endeavors and dedicate their wisdom and strength to the college’s reform and development.
In his address, Zhong Wei extended warm congratulations on the establishment of the SVHC Western Returned Scholars Association and expressed his hope that the newly established association would leverage its advantages to strengthen exchanges and cooperation with similar associations at other institutions, jointly promoting the internationalization of Suzhou City.
During the meeting, the "Charter of the SVHC Western Returned Scholars Association (Overseas Scholars Association) (Draft)" and the "Election Measures of the SVHC Western Returned Scholars Association (Overseas Scholars Association) (Draft)" were reviewed and approved. The first president, Gu Shuqin, vice president, Lin Qing, and secretary-general, Lin Jie, were successfully elected. In her acceptance speech, Gu Shuqin stated that the association would unite and lead all members, focusing on serving the college’s teaching, research, and health development as its fundamental mission. The association will conduct research and actively offer suggestions around the college’s development plans and key tasks, contributing to the high-quality development of the college.
The successful conclusion of this meeting not only provided a new platform for exchange and cooperation for our college’s overseas returnees but also injected new vitality into the college’s internationalization efforts.
