The School's International Students Win Awards in "Reading Jiangsu" Creative Competition

Recently, the "Reading Jiangsu" creative competition for international students in Jiangsu Province concluded successfully. The event was organized by the Jiangsu Provincial Department of Education, co-organized by the Foreign Students Education Management Research Committee of the Jiangsu Higher Education Society, and hosted by Nanjing University of the Arts. Under the guidance of the International Cooperation and Exchange Office of Suzhou Vocational Health College, the Department of General Education (Student Quality Development Center) actively organized and recommended representatives for the "I Speak for Jiangsu" event. They also mobilized and guided international students from the 2023 Class to participate in the competition and won several third-place awards.

The competition aimed to showcase international students' understanding and creative expression of Chinese culture through various forms such as calligraphy, photography, literary creation, and short-video production, all centered around the "Reading Jiangsu" theme. During the preparation, Wang Yingxin, the class teacher of the 2023 Class international students, guided them in finding creative ideas and inspiration related to the theme. She also helped them create their works based on their interests and skills, patiently solving any problems they encountered. In the calligraphy competition, the calligraphy work "What Defines China? A Civilization Carrying Millennia of Legacy" by HTET YATTI (He Ya) from the 2023 Rehabilitation International Student Class stood out with its exquisite skills. In the literary creation competition, EI EI PHYO (Pan Li) from the 2023 Pharmacy International Student Class won with her heartfelt and smooth-written work "Cross-Cultural Respect: A Reflection on 'A Casual Poem in Spring'". It showcased her excellent literary quality and creative ability. HNIN YU YU HLAING (Zhang Wenwen) from the 2023 Rehabilitation International Student Class, as a representative of "I Speak for Jiangsu" won a third-place award for her video "My Appointment with the Canal". The excellent results achieved by our international students in the competition not only demonstrated their good quality and innovative ability but also brought honor to our college. In the future, the Department of General Education (Student Quality Development Center) will continue to strengthen the education and training of international students, provide more opportunities and platforms for them, and enable them to play a greater role in the inheritance of Chinese culture.
